Hippo Internet Marketing & Training

Last week I had the opportunity to attend two days of SEO training by Hippo Internet Marketing’s Corey Creed.  While there are thousands of resources online, you can’t beat the value of face time with a pro like Corey.     I stumbled across Hippo’s website while searching for SEO resources on Google and found their link.  Assuming it was delivered online via webinar, I reluctantly clicked the link and was happy to see it was a classroom environment.  They are located just up 77 in downtown Davidson NC.

The class was small, about 7 people, so each student had ample time with Corey to discuss their objectives and how SEO can help accomplish each one.  Experience-wise, the class had beginners with little HTML knowledge to longtime professionals.  I was impressed that Corey could explain SEO to people who had little or no experience, but he got through to them.

If you are a dentist who’s a “DIY type”, I highly recommend attending Hippo’s SEO classes.  There are no hidden fees or memberships involved, nor does he recommend online tools that are not free.   The upcoming schedule is on their website.  Also available are classes in social media, blogging, and Google AdWords.

Dentists vs Yelp!

Another reason why you should monitor your online reputation?  How about what your patients are saying about you on sites like yelp.com.  So far, two dentists have sued yelp for posting negative reviews on their website.  But sites like yelp are protected by the U.S. Communications Decency Act of 1996, which alleviates responsibility of the website owner from reviews by third parties.

Whats the best way to fight negative reviews? You can threaten with lawsuits or have your patients become “raving fans”.  Engage your patients to post reviews of their experiences with you and your staff.  Sending them a post appointment email with a link to a survey is a great idea.  You can even have a computer in your office and they can post their review while they wait to check out.
