What Are the Yellow Pages Good For?

Just within a few months of Prodentite’s infancy, I’ve pondered the question daily, “What are phone books good for?”  Yes, my mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of questions like this.  It amazes me people still use the phone book for information.  Obviously, it’s a generational thing… but exactly at what age separates those who Google and those who phone book it?

With an overabundance of information at our fingertips (no pun intended, Yellow Pages), what are phone books good for?  So here I am, blogging away, trying to come up with some ideas.

  1. Pen Organizer
According to Chica and Jo, you can recycle a phone book into pen organizer.

  2. Phone Book Stairs
For the little people in our life who can’t reach things, creating phone book stairs is an inexpensive alternative for hiring a contractor to build you a stairway.

  3. Flower Press
According to Thrifty Mommy, you can use a phone book to press flower and leaves for framing or art projects.
  4. Trivet
Thrifty Mommy is racking up the points with this one- Use a phone book for a trivet.  For those who don’t know what a trivet is (I didn’t until we registered for 4 of them for our wedding), it’s something you put on the table for hot dishes.  If only I knew about this tip from TM, we could have registered for 52” Samsung LCD HDTV.

This is a lot to take in for now.  I know I must have missed some obvious ideas so please feel free to list yours.
